COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Annemarie Swanepoel Attorneys prides itself in being an avid supporter of numerous charities, and we participate in various community upliftment and fundraising projects in the Lowveld area and beyond.
Locally we support Herfsakker Old Age Home, Oranjezicht and Laeveld Rus by donating toiletries and other necessities to the less privileged elderly. The items are purchased from local businesses, and all staff assist with the packing and distribution of the gift bags. In addition to the above and since 2016, we have been sponsoring Friday evening meals for the children and staff / “parents” of Huis Bethlehem, which is a safe haven in White River for children from varying circumstances.
Pro gratia Learning Centre is another charity that is close to our hearts. The school is situated just outside of Nelspruit and is registered at the Department of Education as a School for Learners with Special educational needs, in addition to being registered as an NGO. We regularly participate in this school’s fundraising events, and most recently the majority of our staff participated in virtual fun runs in 2020 and 2022.
We also support Child Welfare South Africa, Betties Haven, Nelspruit Community Form, CANSA and Farmer’s Hope Ministry by making financial and food contributions on a regular basis, and by participating in their fundraising events.
As a conveyancing practise, we annually support Chas Everitt Nelspruit’s Golf Day by sponsoring various prizes as well as by participating in the golf day itself. In 2022, all funds raised were donated to Moving Mountains for Cancer Patients, a registered non-profit organization incorporated by people who focus on prevention and treatment of cancer. We also regularly support the golf days hosted by Nelspruit Hospice, and acted as one of their sponsors again in 2019.
Madiba Day is a very special day at Annemarie Swanepoel Attorneys, and we always try to team up with one of our business partners when choosing a project / cause to donate our “67 minutes” to. For the past 2 years, we have joined Century 21 White River at Lowveld Vet @White River for the day, where we assisted them with their Mandela Day sterilisation campaign. The project aims to sterilise, vaccinate and provide parasite control to pets in poorer communities, and we contributed in 2021 and 2022 by making a donation, sponsoring food and drinks for the volunteers and by our staff taking care of the pets during the recovery process.
Another community project we as a firm are particularly invested in is Little Miss Poise, a registered non-profit company which has been in operation since 2014. The organisation focuses on the needs of young girls between Grades 6 & 7 who are experiencing financial hardship, and also girls who need attention / care due to their family circumstances. Lastly, our firm is involved in a business leadership programme with Boschrand Primary School and Partners for Possibility, the latter being an internationally recognised and award-winning leadership development initiative aimed at improving the quality of education in South Africa by empowering school principals from under-resourced schools by among other things, enhancing their leadership skills through partnerships with business leaders.

Madiba Day 2022 I Give and support Local
In the spirit of Madiba Day, we were invited by Century 21 Nelspruit / White River to spend our 67+ minutes at Lowveld Vet... Its always so wonderful to see our community come together and show their support in a time of need. If we all support local, then everyone will eventually get the support they so...desperately need and deserve. We applaud Lowveld Vet, for their biggest hearts and compassion for the dogs & cats from Platsak, White River Local and SPCA Outreach. Each dog & cat gets sterilized, vaccinated and receive a goodie bag, which includes: Blankets & Accessories From our White River Community Cat & Dog Food from Ultradog Vaccination by MSD Tick and Flee by Boehringer Ingelheim & Ilanco Worm Treatment by Kyron 𝐀 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐯𝐞𝐭𝐬, Dr Graeme Harman, Dr Danielle Späth, Dr Daniel Kettels 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬.
